Colfax Homecoming photo booth 2017

Denise is the mother of four children who all attended Colfax school for over ten years. She also worked in the district for seven years as a paraprofessional in the special ed department in both elementary and high school departments. She volunteered with after school groups, led a middle school cheerleading program, headed up a winter clothing share program, worked with the music directors for concerts and school plays, and created multimedia productions for the special ed department and school musicals. She supported her children in their involvement in Colfax' sports, drama, choir, and band. Her love for the kids she worked with in the special ed department extended beyond school days, as each child knew they were special and valuable to her.

Denise is happily married to Nathan Solberg, a long time resident of Colfax. Nate and his family own a farm in Colfax as well as Echobrooke Freight, a trucking company which delivers freight around the US. Denise and Nate live in the rural area of Colfax, enjoying the peacefulness of the woods and wildlife, while starting out an adventure of breeding Australian Shepherds. Denise loves gardening, writing, and making a difference. Currently, Denise is working as a real estate agent with Keller Williams, servicing Northwestern Wisconsin.

Her experience as a parent, as well as a school staff member, working in the district directly with kids and teachers, gives her the insight, knowledge, and wisdom to make informed decisions as a school board member - in the best interest of our kids, parents and community.
