Administration Accountability

Finances, staff retention, community access to school facilities, how policies are being implemented - the school board is responsible in keeping administration accountable to the community in all these areas and more.

Current policy states that administration evaluates itself and presents this evaluation to the board. However, I have proposed that school staff be involved in this process via anonymous evaluation surveys that the board distributes and collects. Each year, administration requires teachers to distribute surveys to their students, who then rate their teacher's performance. These surveys are collected and turned in to the respective principals to review. However, administration is not subject to the same reviews. In their most important roles, it's imperative that admin is also held accountable to those they work for, through performance ratings by those they interact with daily.
